Kelly Slater Early Life

Kelly Slater was born Robert Kelly Slater at Cocoa Beach, Florida, on February 11, 1972. Judy, his mother, was a fireman and EMT, and Stephen, his father, ran a bait shop. Kelly has two brothers, Stephen and Sean, and he began surfing at the age of five. Kelly had won many age-division competitions on the Atlantic coast before the age of ten, and he earned an age-division U.S. championship title in 1984.
